MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy)
Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT®) is a powerful, evidence-based program recognized by SAMHSA for its effectiveness in helping individuals navigate life's toughest challenges. Tailored to reduce recidivism within the forensic population that Hope Lives primarily serves, MRT empowers participants to make positive, life-changing decisions. Over the course of 13 weekly group sessions, led by trained Hope Lives forensic peer support staff, participants work through a guided workbook, engaging in both face-to-face sessions and virtual tele-health meetups that connect urban and rural locations. By blending Self-Help Principles and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), MRT inspires real transformation—showing that changing how we act can change how we think, and ultimately reshape our lives for the better.
Thinking For Change (T4C)
Thinking for a Change (T4C) is a cognitive behavioral training program designed by the National Institute for Corrections. T4C has three important components that help individuals move through life in a proactive manner. These three components are social skills, cognitive self change, and problem solving, which are instrumental in the development of teenagers and young adults. Topics discussed throughout the program include making plans, active listening, responding to anger, identifying and understanding emotions, recognizing risks, and evaluating one’s own actions.
Anger Management
Anger management therapy helps individuals recognize and control their anger responses. It teaches coping strategies to manage anger effectively. What many may not realize is that managing anger is closely tied to successful recovery. Integrating anger management into treatment plans fosters emotional stability and greatly enhances the chances of a successful recovery journey.
Domestic Violence
Our Domestic Violence program accepts both court-ordered and non-court-ordered referrals. We employ structured curricula and methodologies that are designed to increase clients' self-awareness of their controlling and abusive attitudes and behavior, enhance their sense of personal responsibility, and facilitate the integration of positive changes.
