This program is designed to get you certified and ready to help others move toward wellness. Through a mix of individual learning, group discussions, presentations, and role-playing, you’ll gain the skills needed and earn the credential required to work as a peer support specialist.
The Hope Lives Forensic Peer Support Training curriculum is built by experienced specialists and covers everything you need to know to succeed. It meets or exceeds the standards set by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and is approved by AHCCCS and DES Vocational Rehabilitation (VR/RSA). Graduates receive a certificate of completion, qualifying them to work as a Forensic Peer Support Specialist (FPSS). Participants are considered Hope Lives members and have access to employment and job placement services, counseling, and individual peer support after completing the program.

Hands-On Experience: Gain real-world skills through supervised internships and community activities.
Program Structure
This comprehensive program spans 12 weeks and includes:
6 Weeks of Classroom Training: Interactive lessons, group discussions, and role-playing exercises covering peer support fundamentals and advanced topics like recovery planning and system transformation.
6 Weeks of Internship Experience: Apply your skills directly in supervised settings, including working with forensic peers, facilitating groups, and supporting members in real-life scenarios
